How booking works
Every Jawai safari is booked directly with our team over WhatsApp. You message us your preferred date and safari type, we check jeep availability for that slot, and we reply to confirm the seats, the pickup arrangement and how you would like to pay. Because it is a direct conversation rather than a rigid online form, you can ask anything before committing — whether a slot is child-friendly, what to wear, or which drive suits first-time visitors.
There is no prepayment required simply to enquire, and no fee to check availability. Most requests are answered within a few hours. Once your slot is held, we confirm the exact pickup time and location so there are no surprises on the morning of your safari.
What to have ready
Sending these details in your first message speeds up confirmation:
- Your safari date — plus a backup date if your plans are flexible, which helps during the busy season.
- Safari type — morning, evening, full-day, photography or a fully private jeep. Compare them on the Jawai safari price guide.
- Number of guests — each open 4x4 jeep seats up to six people.
- Pickup point — your hotel or camp, the railway station, or a road transfer from Udaipur or Jodhpur.
- Nationality — needed for the reserve’s entry formalities.
Safari options you can book
The two core drives are the morning safari, which sets off around 6:00 AM, and the evening safari, which begins around 3:30 PM — each lasting roughly three hours. Keen visitors combine both into a full day, while photographers often choose a camera-friendly jeep with fewer guests and more time on sightings. For couples, families or groups who want the vehicle to themselves, a private safari is available. Full details are on the safari timings page.
Pickup and transfers
Pickup can be arranged from your hotel or camp near Jawai Bandh, from the Jawai Bandh (Mori Bera) railway station, or as a longer road transfer from Udaipur or Jodhpur — each about 160 km and roughly three hours away. If you are arriving by road, see how to reach Jawai from Udaipur or from Jodhpur. We pick up from hotels and camps around Jawai Bandh, Bera and Bisalpur, and from Jawai Bandh railway station; longer road transfers from Udaipur or Jodhpur can be arranged on request.
Payment, changes and cancellations
Payment options are confirmed on WhatsApp at the time we hold your slot, so you always know the amount before anything is finalised. Bookings are usually held with a small advance, with the balance settled on arrival — we accept UPI, bank transfer and cash, confirmed when we reserve your slot. If your travel plans shift, message us as early as possible and we will do our best to move your booking to another slot subject to availability.
What happens after you message us
Once your first message arrives, the process is quick and transparent:
- We check jeep availability for your date and safari type and reply with what’s open.
- We confirm your pickup point and the exact pickup time for that morning or evening.
- We share the payment options and the total for your group — nothing is charged before you agree.
- Your slot is held and you receive a final confirmation with everything in writing on the same chat.
Good to know before you book
- Carry a photo ID for each guest — it may be needed for the reserve’s entry formalities, which is why we ask for nationality.
- Be ready a few minutes early so the jeep can leave on time; the best light is brief and worth catching.
- Wear neutral, muted colours and bring a warm layer for morning drives in the cooler months.
- Families are welcome — mention children when you book so we can plan the right vehicle and pace.
When to book your dates
Peak season runs from October to March, when the weather is coolest and demand is highest, so popular dates fill up — booking ahead is wise. Safaris run year-round, including through the summer and the monsoon, so there is no closed season to work around. To choose the right window for your trip, read our guide to the best time to visit Jawai, then send us your dates to lock them in.
